MR. ONTARIO WINE

"Larry Paterson got into hot water a few years ago for overstocking his LCBO store with Ontario wines and very little imported plonk. Apparently Kressmann and Le Piat D'Or fans complained. I met Larry picking up supplies "just for myself" on a recent Niagara trip, and it made me wonder if he is not the great unsung hero of local wine. If the summer takes you up Peterborough way, you can find Larry running the LCBO on Landsdowne. Or he may be off fishing with a magnum of icewine."

EVENTS REPORT

"... Another outstanding amateur winemaker who braved the weather was the infamous Larry Patterson from Peterborough. I'm still enjoying nightly sips of his Sweet Iced Ra-Straw-Vin..."

Billy further honoured me by publishing a picture of this label, which to my knowledge is the only amateur wine label he ever published in more than 20 years! {He only published pictures of labels when he recommended the wine.}

Thanks Billy!
