"DATE: 06-02-07 Appearance: Purple.
Nose: Rich nose - cassis, raspberry, peppers, cedar, chocolate, mushroom/earthy, sweet oak.
Palate: Dry with freshacidity, heavyweight. Fresh attack is fruit-driven, with the other elements showing midpalate. Very long clean very dry finish, an austere wine.
Conclusions: Cool-year cabernet blend has a long future (10 yrs plus) and at this time needs food with acidity to match its own acid/fruit profile. Not at all a new-world fruit bomb, much more Euro-traditional in style. This is a wine for those who love northern Italian wines and are willing to wait, or for those who don't mind a touch of tartness. A lot of bang for the price, good value for this style." lfw
