LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine

2006 Meritage
Tech Information: 12-17-07 $ TBA (S: 0 A: ?) Winery

"DATE: 01-01-08 Appearance: Ruby.
Nose: Rich, sweetish and inviting ripe fruit (raspberry, cherry, cassis, red peppers) with spicy oak notes.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Fruit nicely follows the nose, with the midpalate showing round mouthfeel and moderate dusty tannins which last through the long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Very young, underdeveloped but showing early signs of being a very good Cab blend in the elegant style. Not a monster in any way, this has good flavours, though they are certainly not yet integrated. I think this wine will go ten years, taking three to really start coming together. Drinking now would be a form of infanticide, but if you just can't wait then make sure you have it with something on the greasy/bloody side. (Do you open your Xmas presents in May?)" lfw
