"DATE: 07-14-07 Appearance: Ruby (dark for gamay).
Nose: Cherry, plum, raspberry, strawberry, complex, maturing.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight plus. Very big gamay has strong attack, with an earthy quality added to the nose. Midpalate has rich mouthfeel, some warmth, light ripe tannins and a silkiness. Long clean finish.
Conclusions: This excellent value in mature gamay shows that the very best Gamays do indeed approximate a good pinot after five years. This has reached that stage, but is in no way tired. Still has years to go, wonderful food wine. France should be jealous of what Ontario does with this grape." lfw
