LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Bodied Red Wine

2003 Gamay Noir
Tech Information: 07-27-08 $ 12.95 (S: 0 A: ?) Winery

"DATE: 08-12-08 Appearance: Ruby with mahogany at the rim.
Nose: Smoky oak, black cherry and cassis with an herbal earthy character.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose with ripe tannins and light chocolate on the midpalate. Very good long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: This is a good example of good aged Gamay turning into something resembling good Pinot Noir. This still has a couple of years ahead of it, and would be very good with a wide range of straightforward foods (nothing too heavy). Another mature great value at Mountain Road." lfw
