"DATE: 08-12-08 Appearance: Deep straw.
Nose: Rich spicy oak, butter/vanilla, baked apple, pear, some more tropical fruit - quite inviting, "fat".
Palate: Dry with good acidity, heavyweight. Big chard nicely follows the nose, developing a certain vegetal character that I love but cannot properly describe. This only happens in very good chard that starts building some age. Midpalate is rich, fat and shows nice dusty tannins. Finish is clean, very long and dry.
Conclusions: Excellent big-time heavy hitting chardonnay for those who love good Burgundy. This will age another five years if you like that style of wine (some people pay huge prices and sit on the wines for eight years to get this). Big enough to stand heavy flavours in the food, interesting enough already to drink by itself." lfw
