wine chemistry at work Tech Information: 08-13-07 $ 13.00 (S: 2 A: 10.8) Meadery

"DATE: 08-18-07 Appearance: Light straw.
Nose: Honey, light spicy peach character as well.
Palate: Just off-dry with moderate to good acidity, midweight. Palate is much drier than the nose would suggest, with a feeling of smoothness and silkiness midpalate. Long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Another food-friendly "fruit (as-it-were!) wine". This could be substituted for a dry white, and would drive "experts" crazy if served to them (with the main course chicken dinner) from a decanter without explanation. Unique and interesting product for a jaded palate, or a good alternative for those unfortunates who cannot drink grape-based wines (check with your doctor first, but this has worked for many people)." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"While honey may be sweet, this mead surprises many with its dryness. Subtle honey flavours carry this refreshing mead to a clean, crisp finish."
