"DATE: 08-22-07 Appearance: Cranberry with some orange-gold at the rim.
Nose: Both cranberry and maple show, with a herbal/floral character as well.
Palate: Sweet with moderate acidity, heavyweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, with rich mouthfeel and a pleasant herbal character midpalate, and a very long clean finish.
Conclusions: Interesting dessert wine, showing creative thinking in the Muskokas. Good ageing potential, up to eight years. Try this chilled, on a hot summer day, with a platter of flavourful cheeses and fruit." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"A fortified dessert wine that's a perfect blend of spring and fall in Muskoka. Tart, red cranberries harvested just as the leaves take on their brilliant fall hues, combined with sweet maple syrup collected during the first, warm days of spring. The mouth-watering cranberry nose hints of caramel and mint. On the palate, the warm weight of maple syrup caresses the tongue, but is prevented from becoming cloying by lively cranberry acidity that lingers on the finish. Delicious on its own or with your favourite dessert. Serve chilled."
