"DATE: 04-17-07 Appearance: Purple.
Nose: Chocolate, cherry, plum, cedar, some licorice and an herbal quality.
Palate: Dry with moderate acidity, heavyweight. Good deep fruit, big mouthfeel, dusty and ripe tannins midpalate and through the long clean finish.
Conclusions: Very high quality merlot is the fastest-ageing of the big four 2005 Bordeaux style wines from the College. This is ready now for food purposes, but in three years will become richer and more complex, and could go ten years from vintage and become more interesting all the way in a good cellar." lfw
