WORKING TOGETHER
Our AWO Growwine Club has been formed for various reasons:
1) In order to elevate the winemaking
, beer brewing and cider producing skills of our members
2) To promote the use of Ontario grapes
and fruit
in our products
3) To sharpen and train our palates
4) Sharing ideas![]()
5) Building from other's ideas![]()
6) To foster creativity and experimentation in winemaking (littlefatwino is the ringleader in this department)![]()
![]()
7) To prune, crop, try to grow ourselves, or obtain the highest quality fruit from growers to obtain the highest concentration of flavour![]()
8) Grow organically
if we can, or buy from organic growers to use fewer chemicals in our environment
9) Create an environment in our meetings where friendships develop
10) Set up lectures to invite high quality speakers to further our craft![]()
11) Organize and participate in competitions to hone our skills and techniques![]()

12) For the social interactions and poking fun at littlefatwino

13) The list goes on and on and on...
We enjoy the social, technical and intellectual stimulation the hobby provides. (littlefatwino calls this Wagneritis)

More seriously, Peter Gamble spoke to us at lunch at the 2001 AWO Convention on June 10 in Niagara-on-the-Lake. His words rang clear and true that the people at this AWO convention will raise the bar of winemaking in Ontario. We will meet this challenge.
By meeting this challenge some of you will become professional winemakers. You will attain this if we work together sharing winemaking recipes and good times
Skol, Prosit, Der Gemutlichkeit, Cheers
