LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Medium Fruit Wine

Blackcurrant Cassis
Tech Information:
08-13-07 $ 14.95 375ml (S: 5 A: 11.8) Winery

"DATE: 08-18-07 Appearance: Mahogany orange.
Nose: Cassis, light spices, something floral.
Palate: Medium sweet with moderate acidity, midweight plus. Palate is much more pronounced than the nose, with strawberry pie flavours adding to the mix. Rich mouthfeel, long clean finish.
Conclusions: Nice not-overly-sweet dessert style wine for current consumption (drink by 2009). More complex and less big than many cassis wines." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"In Europe, Cassis Black Currant is mixed with white wine to give a very exquisite drink called Kir. Cassis and champagne is aptly named Kir Royale. We have found that if you mix Cassis and Gooseberry supreme on a 1:2 ratio, you obtain an equally exquisite drink.
Name for mix anyone? Maybe Kountry Kir or Black Goose!"
