Nose: Intense (room-filling!) cassis, sweet and spicy oak, leather, chocolate, quite complex and powerful nose.
Palate: Sweetish with fresh acidity, heavyweight. Powerful attack follows thenose, with less sweetness apparent than the sugar count would indicate. Big mouthfeel, big alcohol, huge fruit, big oak flavours, monster sized and complex. Very long clean finish is drier than you'd think, with ripe tannins and some attractive bitterness.
Conclusions: Very potent, dryish despite the sugar, huge flavours and good acid and tannis. This should last twenty years or more, making it an ideal birthgift for a new child to try on their age of majority birthday. Wonderful stuff." lfw
