LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Dry Fruit Wine

Elderberry
Tech Information:
08-13-07 $ 12.95 (S: 1 A: 11.5) Winery

"DATE: 08-21-07 Appearance: Deep ruby.
Nose: Plum, cherry, elderberry, light (yes shiraz-like) rubbery character normal to elderberry. Nose is indeed very much like a grape wine.
Palate: Dry with moderate acidity, midweight. Again like a grape wine in many ways - mouthfeel, fruit, acid. Midpalate adds soft mouthfeel, good clean finish.
Conclusions: Interesting grape wine substitute (and a good one at that). This should age three years, maybe more, getting richer as it goes." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Our award winning elderberry wine has the most grape-like aroma of all our fruit wines. With a hint of Shiraz and Merlot on the nose, it is quite dry with moderate tannins and a clean characteristic finish. Serve in place of a medium bodied red grape wine."
