"DATE: 08-19-07 Appearance: Deep ruby.
Nose: Cassis, light chocolate, cedar and a light herbal character.
Palate: Dry with good acidity, midweight. Palate nicely follows the nose, adding an interesting earthy character. Some richness midpalate, light tannins on the long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Yet another dry fruit wine that is food utile. This could be mistaken for a red wine except for the nose, and could be used as such, being especially good with bbq foods. Should last up to five years, developing more character as it ages. Time for something new? Then try this one." lfw

FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Vibrant deep ruby colour. Luscious aromas of Cassis, cedar, ripe berries, and a cocktail of spices. Very smooth on the tongue, with amazing fruit, tangy, well-balanced acidity and a wee hint of tannin. Quite full bodied, long and spicy with very good evolution. Not surprisingly, a gold medal winner. Easy drinking and fruity with lots of body. Use anywhere you might reach for merlot. Also pairs well with turkey and other poultry."
