LARDY'S WINETASTING NOTES Dry Fruit Wine

Regal Red Currant
Tech Information:

"DATE: 08-18-07 Appearance: Pink/salmon.
Nose: Light cherry/plum with a herbal character.
Palate: Off-dry with good acidity, midweight. Fruit-driven palate with some interesting spicy character and silkiness midpalate to go with the red currants, and a long clean dry finish.
Conclusions: Serve chilled with lighter white meat dishes, or burgers/dogs from the bbq on a hot summer day. Not likely to age more than a year and a half or so, but quite tasty now. Makes me want some on the lakeshore while fishing." lfw
FROM THE PRODUCERS:"Flaming candy-apple pink with a touch of cranberry in the colour. Port-like on the first approach, followed by red currants and a bit of caramel. It presents a citrusy nip up front and light smokiness on the back palate. Just a hint of sugar yet it finishes quite dry. Very good body, length and evolution. Think in terms of a pink sauvignon blanc that will go well with seafood or BBQ chicken."
