"DATE: Retasted 08-22-07 Appearance: Ruby/purple.
Nose: As below.
Palate: As below, but when the chocolate reappears midpalate, it shows an almost dry chocolate bitterness, which then mellows with the blueberry tannins on the finish.
Conclusions: As below, and this should age for five years. Nicely done." lfw

"DATE: 08-29-05 Appearance: Ruby/purple.
Nose: Blueberry, a herbal/spicy character then rich dark chocolate.
Palate: Medium with moderate acidity, midweight. Great hit of dark chocolate mellows into blueberry and spices, with the chocolate reappearing midpalate and leading to a complex interesting finish, which is quite clean and long.
Conclusions: Excellent middle of the road chocolate fruit wine (neither a chocolate bar at the heavy end nor a fruit wine with slight chocolate nuances). This would be sweet enough to stand up to a chocolate dessert made with semi-sweet rather than sweet chocolate, would taste great with light cookies or pastries, or alternately with fruit trays or cream cheese." lfw
