Fruity Dry White Wine

Brilliant pale green-gold colour. Flowery soft spicy nose (gewurz-ish or muscat-y). Good acidity and sugar are balanced just off-dry. Grapefruit, lychee, spicy flavours are lightish but good, good gewurz-like bitterness on a prolonged finish. A superb effort from a brand-new winery on the north side of Lake Ontario.
Midweight. Shows both sugar and acid, slightly off-dry. In keeping with the grape variety, which shows other gewurz characteristics, this has an attractive bitterness on the finish.
Use with hot or spicy, Thai, Chinese, poultry, pork dishes, fish, cheese trays, general white-meat foods. Summer, picnic basket wine. Cottage, patio, wedding, family events, general off-dry white wine use. Ageability - 1 to 2 years.
Match to germanic wines for sure, but also cooler-climate gewurz and muscat from elsewhere, yet a grape all to itself. Geisenheim is the German town that has the university program which created this variety. It was created to produce wines with vinifera flavour profiles in colder climates.
