The first picture, from a bit of a distance, shows one of the Cellared in Canada sections of this major LCBO store. The display in the middle is a French Rabbit product, coming from France.
follow down to see the next picture, a closeup of the display itself.
As you can see below, this is a French product in the middle of wines made partially from Ontario grapes. Nothing here to indicate to the average customer that this product is not Canadian.
follow down to see the next picture, a closeup of the sign in front of the display.
The sign below in no way indicates that this is anything but an "Ontario Wine Original". It exhorts the consumer to purchase this wine, to "Go Local". And of course it is on sale... please note that this is a pre-printed sign, almost certainly sent out with suitable instructions from the marketing gurus at LCBO head office next door.
follow down to see what you can do about it.
This website gives you many ways to contact Ontario Government officials and to let them know what you think about this or any other situation.
I think we deserve better treatment than to disguise lower quality imports as Canadian product, especially given so much activity in the way of buying local in the past few months.

(no I didn't sneak in and take the pictures, and no I can't tell you who they came from. They just ended up in my inbox...)
